Oxford Tutoring

There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: one is roots, the other is wings.

Tutors International provides experienced, quality teachers for children of all ages, abilities and needs. Our tutors are carefully selected for their ability to relate well to young people, for their sensitivity and discretion.

Based in Oxford, Tutors International is a bespoke recruitment service providing live-in tutors; someone who will be a member of the household like a butler or a chef. Our tutors work with children requiring extra support, or needing to be extended academically, or where other family pursuits make for a difficult 'fit' with standard schooling.

All our tutors are interviewed and are subject to careful screening to ensure your complete confidence. Unlike other agencies we don't 'recruit and forget', instead we follow a deliberate policy of contracting directly with our tutors. This means we carry a greater responsibility while giving more security to both client and tutor. We expect our staff to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner, but we also give them full support in circumstances which may be challenging and demanding.

Our Director Adam Caller (pictured above) has wide experience with students of all ages, from six to sixty. Adam began teaching in 1987 while still an undergraduate at Glasgow University. He received his teaching qualification from the University of York in 1991. He taught in the private sector for many years and was a tutor to prestigious families in France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, California and England.

Adam has received specialist training in dyslexia and Attention Deficit Disorder and is very sensitive to children's educational needs. His ability to establish an easy rapport with both children and parents has proved an enormous asset allowing him to turn this expertise to recruiting, training and placing tutors.

The key to our service is getting a good match between tutor and family through the following process:
* First we meet with the family and student(s). We discuss your requirements, preferences and expectations.
* Based on this meeting we draw up a detailed job specification, which forms the basis of our recruitment.
* We place adverts in the specialist educational press resulting in a flow of CVs.
* We select suitably qualified teachers and request - and check - three references on each.
* We shortlist about six applicants who are interviewed in person.
* The two best candidates are then put forward to the client for final selection.

At Tutors International we work with all nationalities, anywhere in the world with discretion and confidentiality guaranteed.
