Scholarships

A surprisingly large percentage of pupils at independent schools benefit from discounted fees. Normally these discounts are awarded in the form of a scholarship or a bursary or a combination of the two.

A Scholarship is awarded for talent, either academically, musically, artistically or in some other field. They are normally based on competitive examinations and in most cases these cost-reduced places are awarded by the schools themselves.

A Bursary is a means-tested grant from the school to help reduce school fees.

Generally speaking scholarships vary between 10% and 50% of fees; however in some cases a bursary could reduce this amount further.

Representatives of all the exhibiting schools will be at the exhibition with full details of the awards available at their school and in the meantime you are more than welcome to get in touch with the schools to request this information.

Financial planning advice for school fees will be available at the show.
