2019

Mark BoobbyerMark Boobbyer has been Warden of St. Columba’s College in Dublin since 2016. From 1994-2012 he worked at Wellington College, as Housemaster, Classics teacher, Assistant Lay Chaplain and Master in Charge of Cricket. From 2012-16 he was Director of Tiger Kloof School in South Africa, engaged deeply in transformational education in one of the most disadvantaged regions of South Africa. St. Columba’s College is the only mixed full boarding school in Ireland, sister school of Radley and a member of HMC.

He believes very strongly that the UK’s exam league tables are divisive and the emphasis put on them by schools is a chief cause of stress among young people. St. Columba’s has very high academic standards, but prides itself on its inclusivity, a very strong sense of community and its emphasis on service and leadership.

The 2019 programme of talks is now published. This year is shaping up to be the greatest public-facing gathering of school leaders in the world.

There were 34 talks and workshops at the 2019 show. The sector’s brightest thinkers were discussing the trends, issues and choices that will affect your child’s future.

As the UK’s largest school open day, the Independent Schools Show (9-10 November) welcomes 240+ of the country’s leading nurseries, pre-preps, prep schools, senior schools and sixth form colleges to Battersea Park. There is no better place for your colleagues and HR teams to:

  • get a complete understanding of the choices and opportunities that are available;
  • meet key admissions teams;
  • speak with heads;
  • enquire about entry requirements at all stages;
  • explore scholarships and bursaries.
