At its core, a Leighton Park education focuses on the individual and the promise of choice. Our ethos informs an approach where students are able to follow their most impassioned interests, become active learners and succeed as themselves.
An IB World School, our emphasis on problem-solving, critical thinking and intercultural skills ensures that every student can succeed in an ever-changing, globalised world. Central to the school’s approach, we teach leadership, creative thinking and risk-taking, empowering students to be a force for good in the world and reflecting the school’s Quaker values.
The success of our academic approach is demonstrated by the latest UK Government analysis, which showed that our Sixth Form students achieved the best academic progress in Berkshire - with the school in the top 40 in England. Our small cohort IB results place us in the top 3 co-educational boarding schools in the UK.
All our students benefit from small class sizes. The average is 16 students per class, going down to 7 students in Sixth Form. Our dedicated teachers are able to cater lessons to each student and ensure they are kept on track both inside and out of lessons. This allows an unparalleled level of support and also a relationship between students and teachers, which allows students to feel that can speak honestly and openly to teachers about any problems they may be facing.
Our location, 35 minutes from London, and surrounded by some of the most historic and picturesque countryside in England, creates unrivalled opportunities for students to enrich and contextualise their learning. The quiet moments and the calm atmosphere of our 60 acre park, encourage students to collect their thoughts and reflect within a caring community. All of this, and the focus on mutual respect, create a stable, unique and sustainable environment where children can live, learn and grow.
We believe that our greatest strength is the way we quietly balance a wonderful sense of calm with an incredible amount of activity and dynamism, creating an environment where students are encouraged to try a huge range of new experiences and develop their greatest talents. Come and see our beautiful grounds, talented students and welcoming school for yourself.
